What Does Urbex Mean?

Urbex is an abbreviation of ‘Urban Exploring’. The act of urban exploring is going into abandoned and dilapidated buildings that are often fenced off or hidden away from the general public.

Photography and documenting the history of the buildings/areas are the two main reasons why people get into the hobby. There are currently dozens of active online communities where explorers share their photos and let everyone know about the history behind the photos.
